It all started with our founder’s passion for Avocado. Ardy Haerizadeh has lived and breathed avocados all his career as a food industry entrepreneur when he launched Yucatan Foods in 1994. With his avo-can-do approach he led the company into becoming the second largest retail guacamole brand in the world.

At Yukatan Ardy developed the first commercially viable peeled and ready avocado halves for the foodservice industry, the first commercial organic guacamole, Avocado Butter and the only guacamole squeeze product on the market. In 2018 Yucatan was acquired by a Nasdaq listed company and Ardy moved on to the next chapter in his quest to improve all things avocado.In his research, based on the nation’s first comprehensive study of avocado cooking oils by his alma mater UC Davis, he discovered that 82 percent of test samples were either stale before expiration date or mixed with other oils. In three cases, bottles labeled as “pure” or “extra virgin” avocado oil contained near 100 percent soybean oil, an oil commonly used in processed foods that’s much less expensive to produce. This realization prompted him to take on the challenge to provide consumers a viable and affordable honest and pure avocado oil.

Hence Santos Avocado Oil was launched in 2022 to do exactly that, a premium avocado oil that can compete with the more inferior avocado oils being offered in the market at comparable prices.
